🎮 What Is Rummy (Okey)?
Rummy, also known as Okey, is a strategic tile-based game that combines planning, observation, and smart decision-making. The game consists of 106 tiles, and players compete to create valid combinations while being the first to use all their tiles.
The game is based on two essential systems:
- Run: Consecutive numbers in the same color, such as 5-6-7.
- Set: Matching numbers in different colors, such as four tiles with the number 9.
Each player starts with 14 tiles and must create combinations worth at least 30 points before placing tiles on the table and joining the game.
🧠 Important Joker Rules
The Joker is one of the most valuable tiles in the game and can replace any required number or color to complete a valid combination.
- When used within a combination, the Joker takes the value of the tile it replaces.
- Example: In the sequence 4 – 5 – Joker, if the Joker represents 6, its value becomes 6 points.
- If a player finishes a round while still holding an unused Joker, it counts as 30 penalty points.
Because of this, the Joker plays a major strategic role and can significantly influence the outcome of every round.
